Karma’s a bitch, baby!
Sharon Stone is facing a $1 billion lawsuit from the victims of China’s recent earthquake after she blamed the natural disaster on “karma.”
The star sparked an international controversy when she was interviewed on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival in May.
She said the death of more than 67,000 victims may have been linked to China’s treatment of Tibetans.
Stone apologized for her remarks, but a New York lawyer is trying to cash in on her comments.
He’s gathered more than 1,000 survivors and victims’ relatives to serve Stone with legal documents demanding a further apology and threatening to sue.
Attorney Ming Hai explains, “For the families who have lost their loved ones or lost limbs or suffered severe injuries, your… statement and act has caused extreme emotional distress.”
Nice try Hai, but we think this case is going to be thrown out of court.
